Kuriftu Resorts Entoto offers a break from the city providing a change of scenery, and a chance to enjoy some fresh air. Who would not want to spend the night enjoying the quiet of the forest while glamping at the tented campsite.
Reservations
Like most things I found in Addis Ababa since I moved here, booking a tent was a bit of a headache. The links on the website do not work consistently, and the phone number on the contact us page does not work.
I made a reservation online for the Forest King and paid with a credit card. I did not receive a confirmation email, so I called another number on the website to confirm my reservation.
As an alternative you can also call reception directly to make a reservation.
Helpful Tips:
- You don’t receive an email confirmation if you book online
- Save and print a copy of your receipt to take with you at check-in as proof of payment
Check-in
Check-in: 2:00 pm
On the morning of check-in, I received a reminder call about my reservation and an SMS with directions for how to get to Entoto.
The resort offers a shuttle from the gate to reception and getting around the resort, but if for some reason the shuttle service is not working (like when I arrived), you must walk about 10-15 minutes from the gate (depending on which gate you arrive at) to reception, and there are no signs providing direction. You’ll pass the ziplining, go-carts, and rope course along the way.
The people at reception were friendly, and check-in was smooth. I was informed about the discounts for overnight guests and was escorted to my tent.

Tent
Forest King Tent: $90 usd (single person)
The tent is spacious, the bed is comfy, and the heated pads on both sides comes in handy during the cold nights.
It gets cold in Entoto, so having a hot shower is refreshing.
The room also has a mini bar with wine, beer, and Ambo.
Food
I had dinner at the main restaurant. The inside is spacious, and it was not packed when I went to eat. I ordered the steak and cheese sandwich and Oreo cheesecake, which were really good.
There are other restaurants and food stalls throughout the park.
Spa
Pedicure: 450 birr 1-hour Swedish massage: 1200 birr (before 40% discount)
The spa is a 2–3-minute walk from reception, and the inside is calm and welcoming.
The view from the pedicure and massage rooms provides a sense of peace and tranquility surrounded by nature.
The resort also offers steam, sauna, and jacuzzi for free.
Entoto was a nice break from the city, I would recommend i to anyone. I cannot wait to go back and try some of the activities and visit the spa again.
